Redhall Weir Bridge Update

An update has been received from CEC regarding progress on re-opening the Redhall Weir bridge over the Water of Leith in Colinton Dell. Read more about the reasons for it's closure.
Further to the update provided on 15th December 2022 we are pleased to announce enabling works will be commencing shortly ahead of the new bridge installation across the Water of Leith at Redhall Weir. These works will include some minor tree felling/pruning to provide the space required for the bridge installation. The project is due for completion, with the new bridge being open, by the end of June 2022. During the periods of enabling and installation works there will be the requirement to close the car park area and on occasions the path, when possible, we will provide advance notice of these closures and signage will be available on site including a map showing a suggested diversion.
In support, the car park area is scheduled to be closed for 8 weeks from Monday 6th March 2023 until Friday 28th April 2023 and for 4 weeks from Monday the 29th May 2023 until the 24th June 2023. However, the step access leading from the car park entrance to Spylaw Park will remain open.
