			<description>The contractor had hoped they would have the work completed before Friday, but unfortunately due to the heavy rain last week, it has increased the water level significantly and has therefore delayed works.

			<title>Burnside Bridge Repairs</title>

			<description>We&amp;#39;ve been advised that work to bring the Burnside footbridge, adjacent to the former Longstone Inn, back into service, will commence on Thursday this week.

The scope for the project includes new overlay panels on the bridge deck, repair of the damaged abutments, and some tidying up around the bridge approaches. Subject to water levels, works should be completed before Christmas.
